The 2026 Canadian Job Search Index
Our inaugural national study: average search length now 5.4 months for professional roles, with reverse-recruited candidates interviewing 2.3× more often per application.
Reverse recruiters work for the candidate — not the company. The Canadian Reverse Recruiters Association sets the professional standard for this new discipline: rigorous training, a code of ethics, and the CRR™ designation Canadians can trust.
Millions of Canadians navigate opaque hiring systems alone. Reverse recruiters level the field — but until now, anyone could claim the title. The CRRA exists to protect the public and elevate the practitioners.
A published code of ethics, a complaints process, and a verified national register — so job seekers know exactly who they're hiring and what standards they're held to.
A six-module curriculum, proctored examination, and continuing education requirements. Certified Reverse Recruiter is a designation that must be earned — and maintained.
National advocacy, market research, peer community, and an annual summit. We're building the infrastructure of a discipline whose moment has arrived.
"For a century, recruiters were paid to fill seats. Reverse recruiters are paid to change lives — one career at a time. That inversion is the most important thing to happen to hiring in a generation."CRRA Founding Charter · 2026
A certified reverse recruiter manages your entire search — strategy, applications, outreach, interview preparation, and negotiation — while you keep doing your job.
Learn How It WorksMembership connects you to Canada's reverse recruiting community. Certification sets you apart in it. The Fall 2026 CRR™ cohort is enrolling now.
Reverse recruiting flips the traditional model: instead of representing employers seeking candidates, a reverse recruiter is retained by an individual to run their job search end-to-end — as their agent, strategist, and advocate.
Deep intake on your goals, compensation targets, and constraints. Market mapping of target employers. A positioning narrative that makes your value legible to hiring teams.
Résumé and LinkedIn overhaul, tailored applications, and direct outreach to hiring managers and internal champions — done for you, in your voice, every week.
Structured interview preparation, debriefs after every round, and offer negotiation support that routinely recovers multiples of the engagement fee.
Applicant tracking systems filter before humans read. Referral networks decide interviews before postings go live. The average professional search now demands 15–20 hours a week of skilled, unglamorous work — precisely when candidates have the least time and the most at stake.
Executives have long had agents in all but name. Reverse recruiting extends that advantage to every serious professional — and certification ensures the person you retain actually has the craft.
When you see the CRR™ designation, you know your recruiter has completed the national curriculum, passed the examination, carries the ethical obligations of the Association, and answers to a complaints process.
Verification takes seconds in our national register. Non-members aren't necessarily unqualified — but they are unaccountable.
A reverse recruiter is paid only by you. Any placement fees, commissions, or employer kickbacks are a conflict of interest and a violation of our Code.
Expect specifics: applications submitted, outreach sent, interviews prepped. Vague promises of "networking" are a warning sign.
Certified members report activity weekly and define outcomes in the engagement letter — interviews generated, offers received, compensation delta.
Our standards require written consent for every application submitted on your behalf and full deletion of your materials on request.
Every listing below is a member in good standing. Look for the CRR™ chip — it marks practitioners who hold the national designation.

Three ways to belong — from practitioners beginning their reverse recruiting career to established firms setting the pace of the profession.
All memberships are subject to the CRRA Code of Ethics and require attestation of candidate-paid practice. Fees shown in Canadian dollars; provincial taxes apply.
"The CRR™ curriculum put language and rigour around things I'd learned the hard way over six years. My close rate on discovery calls doubled the month I added the designation."

"Clients used to ask what a reverse recruiter even was. Now they arrive having verified me in the register. The association did that."

"We enrolled our whole team. The ethics framework alone was worth the fee — it's become the backbone of our client agreements."

Applications are reviewed within five business days. On approval you'll receive your member number, portal credentials, and — for Professional members — enrolment in the next CRR™ cohort.
The CRR™ is Canada's professional designation for reverse recruiting: a six-module curriculum, a supervised examination, a public code of ethics, and annual continuing education. Earned through the member portal. Verified in the national register.
Join as a Professional member. Your cohort opens in the member portal with all six modules unlocked sequentially.
Complete the curriculum — roughly 24 hours of study across strategy, execution, negotiation, and ethics — each module closing with a knowledge check.
Sit the final examination: 10 scenario-based questions drawn from real engagements. A score of 80% is required to pass.
Hold the designation with 12 hours of continuing education annually and ongoing adherence to the Code of Ethics.
The full six-module curriculum, knowledge checks, and examination — for practitioners who aren't ready for Professional membership. (Professional members: the course is already included.)
Enrolment opens with the Fall 2026 cohort.
Holders may use "CRR™" after their name in professional materials — Tamara Cameron, CRR™ — alongside the certification seal. Use is licensed annually and revoked on lapse or ethics findings, which is precisely why it means something.
Every member attests to the CRRA Code of Ethics on joining and re-attests annually. The Code exists to protect clients first, the profession second, and members third — in that order.
Members are compensated exclusively by the clients they represent. Accepting placement fees, referral commissions, or any consideration from employers in connection with a client engagement is prohibited.
No application, outreach, or disclosure of client materials occurs without the client's prior written consent. Clients receive a weekly account of all actions taken on their behalf.
Members never fabricate credentials, experience, or authorship in client materials. Advocacy is vigorous; it is never dishonest.
Client materials are stored securely, shared minimally, and destroyed on request, in accordance with PIPEDA and provincial privacy law.
Fees, scope, and realistic expectations are set out in a written engagement letter before payment. Guaranteed-job claims are prohibited.
Members cooperate with the Association's complaints process. Findings may result in remediation, suspension, or revocation of membership and designation.
Clients and members of the public may file a complaint about any CRRA member. Complaints are triaged within ten business days by the Standards Committee.
Research briefings, market data, and practice commentary from the Association and its members.
